EDUCATION

The future of our industry lies in our youth. Our education committee is dedicated to teaching Houston's youth about the many careers in the hospitality industry, training future chefs and managers and providing resources for existing restaurateurs. In addition, the committee is dedicated to marketing the TRA's educational products and programs.

The GHRA has a partnership with several institutions who have implemented a student chapter or are affiliated with the Texas Restaurant Association. The goal is to bridge the gap between industry and education, to provide opportunities for students and business leaders to network, and to train students for a more productive future in the restaurant industry. We have culinary students and business students who are interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality industry and we are proud to provide scholarship money for students who excel in this field. In return, these students provide volunteer support for our many activities and fundraisers. We are proud to sponsor and support these students. Their schools are providing a great training ground and employers know that we are helping to provide a better workforce.
